Autumn-Winter Fashion Week 2024/2025: 3 trends making a comeback
From timeless checks revisited with elegance, to winter transparency that defies convention, to the retro elegance of the modern cowgirl and the utilitarian-chic that dominates the catwalks, let’s decipher these 3 trends that marked this Fashion Week.
1 - Les carreaux
This classic motif continues to be reinvented. At Rabanne, it adopted shades of red and beige, adorning a thick wool coat paired with a short skirt. At Burberry, the pattern is displayed on a long flowing skirt in shades of green and grey. At Yohji Yamamoto, it was worn on a red and black draped wool dress, complemented by a small jacket.
2 - La transparence
Transparency continues to be a bold trend, even in winter. It is extremely glamorous in a form-fitting dress by Saint Laurent, subtly reveals an airy black blouse by Dolce & Gabbana, and plays on the subtlety of an airy skirt by Carven. Designers went beyond the “naked dress”, undressing various elements of the women’s wardrobe with tops, jumpsuits and even trousers, highlighting the female anatomy.
3- L'utility wear
